Music Video: Chris Brown - I Can Transform Ya (Feat. Swizz Beatz & Lil Wayne)
|
"I Can Transform Ya" is a song by singer Chris Brown, released as the first single from his third album Graffiti. The song features Lil Wayne and Swizz Beatz, who also produced the song. The song makes heavy references to the Transformers line of robot-like toys, which is likely to be inspired by the box office success of the live-action films Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. On 27 September 2009, Brown announced via his official Twitter account that he would release the then titled song, "Transformer"; as the lead song from his latest album, on 30 September 2009 via the online streaming website UStream. Hours later, he revealed that the song was actually called "I Can Transform Ya" and that it would be released a day before the planned release date and it would be streamed live on Justin.tv. In order to promote the new single Brown's record label Jive Records revamped the main page of his official website with graphics for the single and has allowed fans to stream "I Can Transform Ya" free-of-charge. Chris Brown's personal site MechanicalDummy.com has also started to promote the track by placing the same free-of-charge service from his official website into blog posts. After streaming the song for the first time to the public, Brown then announced on October 29,2009 that a music video for the single had already been shot. The music video was directed by Joseph Kahn, who previously worked with Brown on the "Forever" and "Drop It Low" music videos. The video officially premiered to the public on October 27 at 6am on MTV and has since been added to Brown's official YouTube channel and has over five million + views. The music video contains cameos from artists such as Lil' Wayne and Swizz Beatz and also contains cameos from the dance group R3jectz and Transformers star Tyrese. The concept of the video is based on that of the Transformers films in which Brown and his fellow artists transform into cars, motorbikes and helicopters. An example of this is when co-star Lil Wayne transforms into a Bugatti Veyron. (Lil Wayne: "I transform her to a Ducati, then I transform me to a Bugatti"). The music video begins with Chris Brown spray painting the name of the single onto the screen while also indirectly referencing his forthcoming album Graffiti. The music video reached the summit of the US Itunes Music Video Chart November 4 2009. The music video also debuted on BET's 106 & Park on November 11, 2009 and entered the countdown at number 7 November 13, 2009, eventually peaking at #1. It's success on BET helped it rank at #37 on BET's Notarized Top 100 Videos of 2009 countdown. Tags: Chris Brown Swizz Beatz Lil Wayne I Can Transform Ya YouTube Video |
